Hello. I had a green card for more than 10 years now and it just expired. I am about to start my naturalization process but at the same time I am planning to go out of the country in April. Would it be safe for me to go while I am still waiting for my citizenship? Would I be able to take a hold of some kind of proof or temporary card that they will accept to let me back in to US?

We can file to renew your green card so that you have a Receipt to show Immigration when you come and go from the United States.
