My great-uncle died 10 years ago in Louisiana, I am one of the beneficiaries of his estate and I just found out about it, 1/15/12. The attorney does not want to give me a copy of the will nor does he want to disburse funds, he states he's working on it. My uncle did not leave any property nor relatives except a few nieces and nephew. All his money is tied up in CDs'. Any suggestions? Thanks, Philip from Florida

You should engage the services of Louisiana counsel to represent your interests in the Succession of your great uncle - the attorney or the administrator of the estate owes you, as an heir, the duty to inform you of all aspects of the estate, inlcuding the terms of the will

You can contact the clerk of court for the district court of the parish where your great-uncle resided. If his will has been probated, it is a public record, and the clerk can send you a copy.
