Can a lien be filed on inherited property to collect a small claims judgment in California
Answer
Yes. If you record an abstract of judgment in the county in which the property is located, it will automatically become a lien on any property that the judgment debtor acquires. This only works, however, if the judgment debtor takes legal title to the property. If it remains in a trust or otherwise does not become their own property, you can't lien it.
