Question

Hi I have a question about being fired. I was fired for "time clock theft". I submitted two punch corrections that included my break that I did not take. For example I got to work at 8 am worked my shift without taking a break when I submitted my punch correction I put that I started at 745 to include my 15 minute break. I got fired over not being there at 745 so they said it was time clock theft even though they looked up the cameras and agreed that I had not taken a break. Are they correct in firing me over that since I was suppose to get paid for a 15 minute break anyways?

Answer

Any incorrect [false] statement on a time card is grounds for misconduct termination. You should have documented it differently, and discussed it with supervisors before filling it out that way.
