Question

My daughter's friend planned a graduation trip for her family and her friends. My daughter was invited. The parent arranged the trip and purchased airline tickets for all invited. I reimbursed the parent for the airline ticket cost for my daughter. Subsequently, my daughter was un-invited from the trip. Am I entitled to the airline ticket or money for the cost of the airline ticket?

Answer

Yes. You paid for a trip she is not getting to take for whatever reason. If you cannot get the money for the cancellation from the airline, you need to send a demand letter to the family that caused you to incur the costs.
