We have rented a house for over 15 years in Southeast Michigan and we have had issues all throughout with the landlord not fixing things on the house. Plumbing, furnace, windows. We have fixed ourselves or paid to have fixed some of the things. Is there a case for "Adverse Posession"?

No. There is a case under landlord tenant law and you should start by withholding rent, but you will never own the property based on a lease.
