Is there a way to receive a hardship for a temporary stay of garnishments?
This is from a home foreclosure and not tax or child support.
I'm having surgery soon and will be out of work for 10-12 weeks. I would like for my short term dissability to not be garnished. I do not wish to file bankruptcy.

Unfortunately no. There are methods to hide from the garnishment, but it will not place a stop on it. Your options are bankruptcy, paying the amount,negotiating with the creditor, or taking steps to avoid payment
