What are construction costs per square foot in long island?
Current construction cost on Long Island are approx $250 per sq ft, now with that being said that number varys. For example a custom house with a full brick venner, custom kitchen, high end appliances, high effiency modulating boiler, radiant heat, Cac systems, high end millwork package, hardwood floors thru out, etc etc will raise that cost. On average you can easily spend north of 1M on a 4,000 sq ft home. And you can reduce that cost by going with what you would call builders grade type package. Also Energy star will raise the overall cost of construction, as most towns now require it on new home construction. And before long we will be building Net Zero here on Long Island. As great as this country is we are decades behind Europe in building design as far as it relates to Energy.
