Question

I'm trying to get copies of signed agreements from my employer (non-compete etc) and personnel file. Are hey compelled to supply me copies? What options do I have if they refuse to supply me copies?

Answer

Unfortunately, you cannot compell them to produce the agreements without a court order. You can have an attorney send them a letter demanding the agreemenrmts. Generally speaking, such letters get the desired attention.

Please contact me directly for help in this matter.

Answer

If it meets your needs, I suggest that you ask your former employer for copies of all agreements that the employer expects you to honor after your separation. That way, you have some justification for ignoring any requirements in contract documents that are not provided. If you have a legal reason for having the documents such as a pending lawsuit or a UI or WC claim, you can subpoena the documents. Leaving that to your attorney would be best. If I can be of further help to you, call or email.
