I am disabled & earn $18633/yr disability for 12 more yrs. Then $14736 Social Security Disability. He earns $76000/yr. I cannot work & am asking for $12000/yr to meet bills & purchase my own health/vision/dental insurance. He said I will never get that amount. We are trying to not have to hire attorneys (he has free attorney through work). We rent, each have 1 car both with loans. We have medical and credit debt that we can amiably divide. Will I get $12,000 or more/per year or am I off base? (Iowa)

If you can't hire an attorney, expect to get hosed because if he's making that kind of money he has one. Get yourself a lawyer-it'll be the best money you'll ever spend.
