The best start is by reading and learning about beekeeping. Then check for companies that sell beekeeping supplies, and see if there are beekeepers in your area you can talk with, and show you what they do. You might also check with the local agriculture agent, and any orchards, since many of them use beekeepers to insure pollination of the fruit trees.
