Question

I entered into a contract for my current position. I am currently looking for a new position, and the contract that I entered says that I am to give 30 days notice of quitting. However, there have been aspects of my job included in the contract that have changed and there has not been a new contract written up. Are my employers legally able to come after me if I do not give them 30 days notice of leaving my position or because they have not given me a new contract or upheld certain ends of their bargain/contact (or added new things to what I am supposed to be doing)?

Answer

IF the contract is still in effect, the terms are binding and your employer may have legal recourse against you if you violate the terms. It would probably be a good idea to give the 30 days notice. It is also a good gesture.
