Question

My disabled, nearly blind father in law moved into our home months ago. He gave us permission ( not in wriying) to use his debit card for monthly expenses and his needs. He is unable to do these things for himself. He later moved back to his hometown. Now, due to financial difficulties, he is accusing us of using his card without permission. What are we facing?

Answer

I assume you got permission in writing, in which case you do not have a legal problem. If you didn't do that obvious step, you could face a civil lawsuit or arrest and jail, so you will want to retain a lawyer.
